VISITA A PLANTA HARSCO: Bilbao SteelPhalt Euskadi

Euroslag2024 invites you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to get a closer look at the Bilbao SteelPhalt Euskadi plant, a subsidiary of Harsco Environmental, on 25 October.

HARSCO ENVIRONMENTAL is the premier provider of material processing and environmental services to the global steel and metals industries, offering sustainable solutions that maximize environmental benefit and return valuable raw material into production.

SteelPhalt – A NEW GREEN PROJECT SteelPhalt has been developing and manufacturing high performance asphalt products for roadmaking in the UK industry since the 1960’s. SteelPhalt sustainably manufactures asphalt as at least 95% of the product uses slag from the surrounding steel industry as raw material, and helping to reduce the carbon footprint of road-laying by 40%.

This Bilbao plant is a perfect example of how SteelPhalt aligns itself with the vision of a more sustainable world, using by-products from the steel industry to create efficient and environmentally friendly building materials.

Two groups of 15 people will be formed for the visit; the first group will visit from 9:00h-11:00h and the second group from 11:00h-13:00h.

VISITA A BILBAO PORT

Euroslag 2024 invites you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to participate in a technical visit to the Port of Bilbao on 25 October, starting at the PortLab headquarters.

The visit will begin with a brief introduction to the port, providing an overview of its key operations and infrastructure. Following this, there will be a focused presentation on the application of steel materials in port infrastructures, demonstrating how steel plays a vital role in the construction and maintenance of these essential facilities. Participants will then have the opportunity to observe these applications firsthand during the visit, gaining a deeper understanding of the practical use of steel in the port’s operations.

This visit offers a unique chance to see how steel materials contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of port infrastructure, aligning with modern practices of building environmentally conscious and resilient facilities. A single shift of visitors to the Port starting at 10:30 a.m. with a duration of approximately 2 hours.
